Thymoma

چکیده
Thymomas, with their diverse signs, symptoms and relationships to other systemic diseases, are not infrequently encountered. Histologic classification is now standardized. Thymoma is associated with other disorders, such as myasthenia gravis and pure red cell aplasia. Proper staging, careful histologic evaluation and appropriately selected therapy are necessary to ensure long-term survival.

The association of pemphigus and thymoma is real, although rare. We report a 73-year-old woman presenting with cutaneous bullac and erosions superimposed on erythematous and urticarial plaques, and a positive Nikolsky sign. She. had a large mediastinal mass that proved to be a benign thymoma. Her skin biopsy and direct immunofluorescence test were suggestive of superficial pemphigus.
